Afghan National Army (ANA) Logistics Command’s Women’s Center Ministry of Defenses’ Acquisitions, Technology, and Logistics’ Headquarters Logistics Command continues to be pioneers of progress, equality, and opportunity for women by facilitating the union of women in the ANA. These women have become present-day pioneers. They are the future’s role models, breaking free from traditional molds. While walking around Log Command, seeing the women work in a military capacity, the future of their role being that of an equal in the ANA is more than just hopeful, it is rapidly becoming a reality. With the upcoming female specific OCS, the anticipation of greater responsibility is joyfully welcomed by the women as well as the men. Having more qualified people to do the job will help to alleviate some of the pressure that has been felt with the increase in work load. The increase of 50 positions in Log Command that have been allocated for women joining the force, in conjunction with the supplementary training, will benefit all members of the ANA.

Depot_2_May_10_2The Combined Security Transition Command (CSTC-A) CJ4 Director, COL Ron Green, and his National Depot Deputy Director, LTC Neal Daniels, visited the Afghanistan National Security Forces (ANSF) National Depots on 5 May 2010 to get “eyes on” the billions of dollars of vehicles and other equipment staged to field the ANSF.

The first stop was Todd Maritime Service Inc. (TMSI), a vehicle lot and warehousing activity that functions as an overflow storage area for both Army and Police assets. Current operations at TMSI have recently expanded to include receiving vehicles, which has increased our receiving capacity to match the increased push of trucks to Kabul from the Port of Karachi.

Hard work on the ANA Maintenance Decree complete

E-mail Print PDF

After many months of hard work the Maintenance Decree "4.9" is complete.   CSTC-A coalition personnel working Shoulder to Shoulder with our ANA brothers recently completed the Maintenance Decree which establishes the overarching policy for ANA organic maintenance.  This document establishes three levels of maintenance and dictates what work is done at the Unit, Combat Service Support Kandak, Corps Logistics Battalion, and Central Work Shop.  The decree addresses the structure, people, equipment, and technical skills needed to repair and maintain the wide variety of  ANA shoot, move, and communicate equipment.  Some of the key portions of the document lays out class IX repair parts from authorized stockage list/prescribed load list (ASL/PLL), Shop and bench Stocks. It establishes approval authority for controlled substitution and cannibalization of weapons, radios, and vehicles. It also breaks outs garrison and field operations and provides process flow for Battle Damage Assessment and Repair (BDAR), recovery, collection, and evacuation of all technical equipment. It provides safety guidelines for motor pool and workshop operations.
