In Afghanistan, Deputy Commanding General Programs Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Brig. Gen. Gary Patton, considered a big challenge in his mission for upcoming unit commander’s training.
The training processes of soldiers are going well. If we compare Afghan National Army and Afghan National Police numbers today with the past we see a decrease in the number of people going absent without leave. It takes a long time and is difficult to train high-quality commanders, said General Patton.
On the other side of ground forces, our attention is also on training the Afghan Air Corps which we plan on having at full strength around 2015, the general added.
